Surface preparation before painting
Unpainted surface. The surface must be clean, dry, solid and free of grease. Cracks and potholes must be filled with a suitable filler (Aura Luxpro Fin Spackel, Aura Luxpro Aqua Spackel, etc.). Surfaces prone to mould must be treated with Biotol before painting. Porous and dusty surfaces must be treated with a penetrating, strengthening acrylic primer (Aquastop Expert, Aura Unigrund Renover, etc.).
Painted surface. Chalk and lime whitewash must be completely removed. The surface must be thoroughly cleaned of flaking material, dirt and dust. Heavily soiled or greasy surfaces should be washed with a 3–5% solution of baking soda, then rinsed with water and dried. Surfaces painted with glossy paint should be cleaned of flaking coating, treated with sandpaper until rough, degreased with a 3–5% solution of soda, washed with water and dried. Then treat the surfaces in the same way as new surfaces.
Attention! Please follow the technical instructions for the use of all products listed above.
Application
For painting large areas with tinted paint, it is recommended to use paint from one production batch. If you have tinted paint from different production batches, it is recommended to mix them in one container beforehand.
Attention! The coating acquires its final color after the paint dries.
Stir the paint before use. Apply with a roller, brush or spray in 2 layers at ambient and substrate temperatures from +10 ºС to +25 ºС. For airless spray application, use a 0.015–0.019 inch nozzle. For spray application and for the first layer with a roller, if necessary, the paint can be diluted with water no more than 5% by volume.
Features of using the TR base. Use the TR base (colorless) paint only in a tinted form (according to the Eskarocolor system). Before applying the TR base, paint the surface in 1 layer with Eskaro Akrit 5 Easyclean base A (white), which is tinted to a lighter shade of the color of the finish coating. Do not dilute the tinted TR base paint, apply in 2 layers. For saturated red, yellow, light green colors, it may be necessary to apply more layers to completely cover the base.
Caring for a painted surface
Remove dirt immediately after it appears.
Under normal conditions, the paint acquires its initial water-repellent (hydrophobic) protection within 1–2 weeks after painting, so it is recommended to avoid cleaning the painted surface before the specified period. If the painted surface requires cleaning earlier, it should be cleaned carefully using a damp cloth.
Under normal conditions, the paint film reaches its final strength within 3–4 weeks after painting, after which the painted surface acquires the ability to withstand more intensive cleaning.
To clean a dirty painted surface, you can use slightly warm water and a soft microfiber cloth (washing cloth, soft sponge). After wet cleaning, wipe the surface dry with a paper towel. Clean with light movements, without rubbing the surface hard. Strong friction can make the surface glossy. Do not use abrasive tools and agents, a hard sponge or brush with hard bristles, organic solvents.
The water-repellent properties of the painted surface are usually restored 5–7 days after cleaning the surface with a damp cloth, but this still depends on the agent or working tool used, the intensity of washing, and the degree of surface contamination. The use of a neutral or slightly alkaline detergent may prevent the restoration of the hydrophobic properties of the paint. However, the lack of water-repellent properties does not reduce the resistance of the painted surface to washing.
